mot low table
Not exactly sure what they meant to me back when I used play with my friends around them. One of my distinctive memories is us running around them, playing a game like tag. We touched, hugged, and sometimes kicked them, especially the big ones. I don't have a strong memory of being cautioned by adults of their sacredness, but we must had some respect toward them because we never climbed or try to damage them. Most of them were made of wood and some of them were in stones. The coolness of ones in stones in a shade was a present feeling in the summer. While hugging it, I remember observing it's aged textures...

'Torii', which this low table is connected to, is a gate usually placed in front of shinto shrine, or areas where it is considered sacred. It was not the beginning of this table's design thinking at conscious level, but I guess it was the starting point in my memories, to which I was able to go back and from which the table's form came to be.
